One week’s worth of 2011 peppers.

The first lesson.

The second lesson: Know what you’ve got!  It can be really difficult to eat a huge pile of veggies if you have no idea what they are or what to do with them.  Last year we got dozens of peppers every week, many of which I had never seen before.  The easiest way to identify any mystery produce is just to ask your farmer about anything unfamiliar when you pick up the share.  But if you get home and find some mystery greens in the bottom of the box, just hop online and check out The Produce Guide, Food University, or visit your local library.  If you know of any other good ways to identify mystery produce feel free to chime in with a comment!
