Some very tasty recipes came out of this week’s delivery. I’m having a bit of trouble getting images to work though. I can upload them just fine, but they won’t insert into my posts. It may be some kind of glitch with my browser, as I am able to include them if I post them […]

Last week I went out of town. Luckily one of my wonderful neighbors was able to make the weekly pick-up, so I arrived home to find a fridge full of delicious veggies waiting for me. Week Three was slightly less abundant than usual, due to stretch of 90+ degree days, which tend to be hard […]

This week brought more delicious veggies, plus the first of many cabbages. I always struggle to use up cabbages… Some of the produce made it into breakfast this morning too. Spinach ended up in an omelet, and some fresh basil added an aromatic finish to balsamic drizzled apple slices.

This year I’m trying a new method to time my plantings, called gardening by the moon. My Grandmother recommends it, and I trust her gardening advice. To that end, […]

It’s that time of year again. The CSA is signed up for, my seeds are ordered, and the first day of spring is less than three weeks away. I’m really starting to get excited. A few of these things are still in the mail, but this is what I’ll be planting: 10 Lily bulbs (grocery […]

I love seed catalogs. I loved them when I was a kid and my parents got to do all the ordering, and I love them even more now that I get to pick everything out myself. In years past I have simply chosen from whichever organic seed company happened to have a distributer in my […]
